Namitha (born Namita Mukesh Vankawala) (born 10 May 1981) is an Indian actress , who has appeared in Indian regional movies, such as Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam films.
She first came into the limelight after she was crowned Miss Surat during the year 1998.[1] She went on to participate in the 2001 Miss India pageant and ended up as the fourth runner-up, while Celina Jaitley was crowned Miss India during this event. This publicity opened up doors for her and she did a number of TV commercials like Himani cream & hand soap, Arun Ice Creams, Manikchand Gutka, and Nile herbal shampoo. Film director Siddiqui introduced her to the tinsel screen in a Malayalam movie, and thereafter Namitha has acted in several Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and English movies. In the first of two Telugu movies she went by the name of Bhairavi. She attained fame after the release of Engal Anna in which she starred opposite Vijayakanth. She is also known as an item girl in regional movies, and often appears in Tamil magazine front covers. She became even more popular after her dance number 'Arjuna Arjuna'.
She made her acting debut in the Telugu film Sontham directed by Sreenu Vaitla. Subsequent to that, she starred in the Tamil film Aai. In 2006 she made her Bollywood debut in the Hindi film Love Ke Chakkar Mein. Standing 6' tall, she is one of the tallest actresses in Bollywood.On 26 October 2010, there was an attempt to kidnap her by a fan at Trichy in Tamil Nadu.On 17 April 2011, she inaugurated the Nungambakkam (Chennai) branch of the sports café Blitzz.Namitha has been an advocate of safe driving: in June 2012, she and Tamil actor Bharat promoted awareness of safe driving.There have been false story about her trying to commit suicideHer most famous role is in the film Thamburatti.Namitha was born in the Gujarati-speaking Ganchi family in Surat, Gujarat, India on 10 May 1981. She is the only daughter in this family, which consists of her dad, a businessman while her mother is a homemaker. She has a degree in English Literature. She used to teach swimming to young children and was raised in Surat.She is proficient in Karate, loves to dance, watch movies, swim and play badminton in her spare time and likes to work out. She likes novels, especially by Sidney Sheldon, as well as comic books. She is a promoter of Gadgetguru.
Rohini is an Indian actress, lyricist, screenwriter, voice actor and director. She has mainly acted in south Indian, notably Malayalam and Tamil films. Having started her acting career at five, she has about 130 south Indian films to her credit.[3] She received National Award of Special mention and Andhra Pradesh State Award for Best Female Actor in the year 1996 for the film Sthree.A native of Anakapalli, Rohini spent all her childhood in Chennai.She started her career in 1976 as a child artiste. She was first seen as a wide-eyed 5 year old in Yashoda Krishna, a Telugu film.She is also a popular dubbing artist in the Tamil industry. In 2013, she has directed a feature film Appavin Meesai which is yet to be released.Meera was born on 15th July 1976 in Lahore. She started acting in school plays in high school and went on to model for various commercial products while still in high school. Meera went to Lahore's Kinniard College and continued to act in school plays, however at this point her modelling career really took off as she appeared in ads for Pepsi and Lux while still in her mid-teens. She continued to model for various agencies in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad and became one of the country's top supermodels. At this point, Meera was also approached by various directors in Lahore to sign on for roles in their movies. She signed with two directors including Samina Peerzada who was making her debut as a director in Inteha (1999). Peerzada signed Meera on as the lead in her directorial debut - and Meera was sensational. Inteha went on to become a bit hit and Meera was named the Best Actress of the year for her breakout performance. Since Inteha, Meera has worked in 14 projects, while at the same time, continuing with her modelling career. Despite having spent 4 years in the film industry, Meera prefers working in fewer films than her co-stars. This according to Meera is because she prefers modelling to acting and is therefore committed to appear in a limited number of film projects. She is still one of Pakistan's top models and continues to appear in Lux and Pepsi's ads - which helped launch her career. Meera plans to continue her modelling and acting career, before turning her attention to Interior design, which was her major in college. Meera signed on to appear in a new television serial produced and directed by Javed Sheikh. This would be Meera's first appearance on a Prime Time TV Serial on PTV, although she has guest hosted the weekly Top 20 Countdown for PTV and Pesi on quite a few occasions.
