Shraddha Kapoor is an acclaimed Indian actress whose performance in Aashiqui 2, the biggest hit of 2013 has won her rave reviews. She is now being touted as the next big thing in Bollywood.The 24 year old actress was born on March 3, 1989 to parents Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor and Shivangi Kapoor. She is the second child in the family. Her elder brother is Siddhanth, who is currently an assistant director but started his career as a Disc Jockey.She did her schooling in Mumbai and then took up theater studies at Boston University, Boston, Massachusetts, United States.Shraddha Kapoor did not use her movie contacts to get a role, she got it out of pure merit. She says, "After my first year at Boston, I was here in my summer holidays when the producer of Teen Patti, Ambika Hinduja, spotted me on Facebook and called me for a look test. I auditioned and got selected. And then Luv Ka The End happened and now Aashiqui 2."Shraddha Kapoor debuted in Bollywood with a 2010 movie Teen Patti alongside Amitabh Bachchan, R. Madhavan and Raima Sen. She had a supporting role and the movie did not do too well. Her role was that of a studious college girl and a guitarist to boot.The next year Shraddha Kapoor signed for three new movies with Yash Raj Films. Later, after her singing in Mahesh Bhatt's Aashiqui 2 the contract was cancelled. In her next film, Luv Ka The End, she played the role of a determined girl Rhea with a boyfriend who cheats on her. After crying and mopping over her state of affairs, the girl decides to take things in her stride and picks the baseball bat to get even. Aashiqui 2 - Her landmark film 2013 proved to be the turning point of Shraddha Kapoor's career. The romantic-tragedy musical drama captivated audiences in hordes, so much that this movie made with a budget of just Rs. 10 crores went on to generate more than Rs. 100 crore at the box office. Along with her co-star Aditya Roy Kapoor who tasted fame, Shraddha Kapoor also became a household name. Her role of a lower middle class Arohi Keshav Shirke, a small-time singer at a restaurant who becomes a nation-wide sensation thanks to the support of her alcoholic boyfriend, touched hearts of people in a very big manner.
With the electrifying chemistry between the two, rumors are abuzz that Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor are dating, and are more than just good friends Though Shraddha has not been vocal on the issue, Aditya said that he respects her a lot and looks up to her.Shraddha however does add that she considers work very important.She said," No, I have not had any serious relationship. A relationship can take a lot of time and I don't know how I would be able to be in a serious relationship and work simultaneously. My father gave me only one advice -Concentrate on your work and work hard. I am following his advice."
